My research interests
The graph below provides an overview of my research interests. The overarching theme is the potential of Finance to act as a tool for positive change. That is what drives my interest for financial markets, and it is an enduring theme, not subject to trends at any point in time. That Finance does not necessarily lead to positive change is the reason why I do research. Like many, I believe research can contribute to the realization of its potential. Therefore, my research is based on fundamental topics widely studied in the academic literature, such as the separation of ownership and control, and the need for governance. However, I am also deeply interested in the effect of contemporaneous trends on the functioning of well-established markets. In that sense, some of my research interests are temporary, and constantly evolve to reflect the current state of the discipline. The items for my research agenda can be found in the intersection between the different topics listed below.
